Individuals arrested for illegally installing an electric meter were arrested
Addis Ababa Police said that individuals and their associates who used to use electricity by installing an electric meter unknown to the Ethiopian Electric Service have been arrested and are being investigated.
The crime was committed in Bole Sub-City, Woreda 9 Goro Sefera. According to the Medina Police, five individuals living in the area applied for an electric meter and were waiting in line for the Ethiopian Electric Service's Eastern District.
However, brokers approached the residents, claiming that they would handle the case without queuing, and installed 5 electric meters without the approval of the Ethiopian Electric Service.
However, Addis Ababa police said that despite the fact that they have been using the power for a month or a few days, the meter has a technical problem and the users have complained to the institute and it has been confirmed that the meter has been removed.
