Individuals found transporting bullets by ambulance in Ambo town have been arrested

Police in Ambo town have arrested four people who were found transporting 1,377 rounds of ammunition illegally. The men were found transporting the bullets in a government ambulance, according to City Administration Police Commander Sisay Hirpa.

 He said a search operation in the Awaro Kora area on the outskirts of the town took place at around 2:30 pm yesterday. As Commander Sisay points out: 

The men were spotted trying to smuggle the bullets into women's t-shirts, loaded them with fertilizer, and transported them from Burao to Ambo. 

The driver, pharmacist and two recipients of the ammunition have been arrested and are being investigated. He also called on the public to do their part by pointing out the culprits in the police's efforts to curb illegal activities, ENA reported.
